ASPRE Trial
The ASPRE Trial was a large study that tested whether a specialized screening approach could reduce the risk of preterm birth caused by a condition called preeclampsia, which can threaten the health of both mother and baby. It involved measuring certain pregnancy indicators early on and using a specialized blood test, then giving high-risk women low-dose aspirin. The study found that this method significantly lowered the chances of severe preeclampsia and preterm delivery, helping improve outcomes for both mother and child through early detection and preventive treatment.
