Asperger's syndrome (now considered part of Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Asperger's syndrome is now recognized as part of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is a neurological condition that affects how a person perceives and interacts with others and the world. Individuals with Asperger’s often have strong language and intellectual skills but may find social interactions challenging, struggle with understanding social cues, or prefer routines. They may also have intense interests or hobbies. While they might experience difficulties in social settings, they typically do not have significant delays in language or cognitive development. The condition varies widely, and many people with Asperger’s lead successful and fulfilling lives with support and understanding.
