ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals)

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) was the governing body for professional surfing competitions worldwide. Founded in 1976, it organized events, set standards for competition, and promoted the sport to a global audience. The ASP managed various tours, including the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour, where top surfers competed for rankings and titles. In 2015, ASP rebranded as the World Surf League (WSL), continuing its mission to grow surfing as a sport and highlight its athletes. The WSL now oversees competitions, media production, and athlete management, enhancing surfing's visibility and appeal.
