Asian Black Bear

The Asian Black Bear, also called the moon bear, is a medium-sized bear native to Asia. It has a black coat with a distinctive white or cream crescent-shaped patch on its chest. Usually weighing between 60 to 130 pounds, it inhabits forests across countries like India, China, Japan, and Korea. Omnivorous, it feeds on fruits, insects, small mammals, and plants. The bear is skilled climber, often resting in trees. Due to habitat loss and hunting, it’s considered vulnerable, and conservation efforts aim to protect its populations.
