ASIA Impairment Scale
The ASIA Impairment Scale is a tool used by healthcare professionals to classify the severity of spinal cord injuries. It assesses how much a person has lost some or all of their ability to move or feel below the injury level. The scale ranges from A to E: A indicates complete loss of sensory and motor function below the injury; B-E show increasing degrees of recovery, with E meaning normal function. This system helps determine prognosis, guide treatment, and track recovery progress in individuals with spinal cord injuries.
