Ashcroft's research

Ashcroft's research focused on understanding how the body's immune system detects and responds to viral infections, particularly through the role of specific proteins called pattern recognition receptors. He studied how these receptors recognize common features of viruses and activate immune defenses, which can inform new treatments and vaccines. His work helps us better understand the body's natural defense mechanisms and could lead to improved strategies for preventing and combating infectious diseases.
