ASCAP membership
ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, is a nonprofit organization that protects the rights of songwriters and composers. When artists join ASCAP, they gain the ability to earn royalties whenever their music is performed publicly—whether on the radio, TV, or live events. Members submit their songs to ASCAP, which then monitors performances and collects royalties on their behalf. This ensures that creators are fairly compensated for their work, promoting the continued creation of music while helping to uphold intellectual property rights.
