Aryan peoples

The term "Aryan peoples" originally referred to ancient groups speaking Indo-European languages, originating around 2000 BCE in regions that include present-day Iran and India. Over time, it became associated with a cultural and linguistic identity spread across parts of Europe and Asia. In modern scholarly context, it relates to the ancestors of many Indo-European languages, such as English, Hindi, and Persian. However, the term has also been misused historically, notably in the 19th and 20th centuries, to promote racial ideologies. Today, it is primarily used in historical and linguistic discussions to describe language families rather than any racial or ethnic classification.
