Aryabhata (satellite)
Aryabhata was India's first satellite, launched in 1975. Named after the ancient mathematician and astronomer Aryabhata, it marked India’s entry into space technology. The satellite was used primarily for scientific research, including studying solar and cosmic radiation, and testing new technology for communication and navigation. It orbited Earth at an altitude of about 600 km and provided valuable data that helped develop future Indian space missions. Aryabhata's success demonstrated India’s growing capability in space science and engineering, inspiring continued advancements in satellite technology and research.
