Sergei Rachmaninoff was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor born in 1873. Known for his emotional and richly melodic music, he created famous works like "Piano Concerto No. 2" and "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini." Rachmaninoff's style blends late Romanticism with Russian folk influences. He faced early challenges with his career, including a difficult premiere of his first symphony, but later achieved great success in Europe and the United States. His music is celebrated for its depth, technical demands, and lush harmonies, making him one of the most important composers of the 20th century. Rachmaninoff passed away in 1943.
