Artuqid dynasty
The Artuqid dynasty was a Muslim Turkmen dynasty that ruled parts of eastern Anatolia, northern Syria, and northern Iraq from the 11th to 15th centuries. They established a kingdom that was known for supporting arts, architecture, and culture, blending Persian and Islamic influences. The dynasty's rulers built impressive cities, mosques, and palaces, leaving a lasting legacy in the region. They often acted as local rulers under larger empires, like the Seljuks and later the Mamluks, contributing to the political and cultural development of medieval Middle Eastern society.
