Articulations
Articulations are the connections between bones that allow movement and stability in the body. They are commonly known as joints, such as the knee, elbow, or shoulder. These joints can vary in how much they move: some are quite flexible, like the shoulder, while others, like the skull sutures, allow little to no movement. Articulations are made up of bones, cartilage, ligaments, and sometimes fluid-filled sacs, which work together to facilitate smooth, controlled motion and support reliable weight-bearing functions.
