ARTIC

ARTIC (Assembly-Ready Tiled Illumina Curriculum) is a standardized protocol designed to efficiently sequence viral genomes, such as SARS-CoV-2, using Illumina sequencing technology. It involves amplifying the viral genetic material into overlapping fragments (amplicons), preparing these pieces into a library suitable for sequencing, and then analyzing the data to reconstruct the complete viral genome. This approach speeds up and simplifies the process of generating high-quality genomic data, enabling researchers to track virus mutations, monitor outbreaks, and support public health responses more effectively.
