Arthur James Balfour

Arthur James Balfour was a British statesman who served as Prime Minister from 1902 to 1905. He was a leading Conservative politician known for his intellect and calm leadership. Balfour played a significant role in early 20th-century politics, including domestic reform and foreign policy. He also authored the Balfour Declaration of 1917, in which Britain expressed support for a national homeland for Jews in Palestine, a key moment in Middle Eastern history. After his tenure as Prime Minister, he continued to serve in various government roles and was later appointed as the Lord President of the Council.
