Artesian Springs

Artesian springs occur when groundwater, trapped beneath layers of impermeable rock or clay, naturally finds its way to the surface due to pressure within these underground aquifers. When the pressure is sufficient, the water flows upward without the need for pumping, emerging at the surface as a spring. This natural phenomenon often results in clean, fresh water that can be used for drinking, irrigation, or other needs, and it indicates a well-maintained underground water system with a sufficient recharge rate.
