Arsenic remediation
Arsenic remediation involves removing or reducing arsenic contaminants from water sources to ensure safety and protect health. Methods include treating water with filtration systems containing activated alumina or other adsorbents that trap arsenic particles, ion exchange processes that swap arsenic for less harmful ions, and coagulation/filtration techniques that settle out arsenic compounds. Sometimes, source replacement or installation of barriers prevents arsenic from leaching into water supplies. The goal is to reduce arsenic levels to meet safety standards, preventing health risks like skin lesions and cancer associated with long-term exposure.
