Army Courts Martial

Army Courts Martial are legal proceedings used by the military to address serious offenses committed by service members under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). These courts operate similarly to civilian courts but are specifically designed to handle military law violations, such as misconduct, insubordination, or criminal behavior. A panel of military officers, often called a drumhead court, hears cases, evaluates evidence, and determines guilt or innocence, followed by sentencing if applicable. Courts Martial uphold discipline within the armed forces while ensuring the rights of the accused are respected throughout the process.
