Army Air Forces Training Command

The Army Air Forces Training Command was a division of the U.S. Army responsible for training airmen and pilots during World War II. It coordinated the education and preparation of personnel to ensure they had the skills needed for combat and support roles in the Air Forces. The command managed numerous training schools across the country, focusing on technical, pilot, and support training. It played a vital role in rapidly preparing large numbers of qualified airmen to support the military’s air operations during the war. After the war, it evolved into what is now the United States Air Force Training Command.
