Armenian Democratic Republic

The Armenian Democratic Republic was the first modern Armenian state, established in 1918 after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. It was a short-lived, independent republic aimed at protecting Armenian cultural identity and sovereignty amidst regional turmoil. Despite its efforts, it faced challenges like external threats from neighboring countries, internal political struggles, and limited international recognition. The republic lasted until 1920, when it was overtaken by Soviet forces, leading to Armenia's incorporation into the Soviet Union. Today, it is remembered as a symbol of Armenian national self-determination and independence.
