Armed Non-State Actors
Armed Non-State Actors (ANSAs) are groups that use weapons and violence but are not part of a government or official military. Examples include rebel groups, insurgents, terrorist organizations, or militias. They often pursue political, religious, or ideological goals and can challenge governments or influence regions through armed conflict. Unlike regular armies, they operate independently of state authority, making their actions complex and impacting peace, security, and humanitarian situations globally.
