Aristotelian Cosmology

Aristotelian cosmology views the universe as a finite, geocentric system centered around Earth. It consists of orbs or spheres carrying planets and stars, arranged in concentric layers. At the center is Earth, stationary and unmoving. Surrounding it are celestial spheres that move in perfect, divine circular motions, guided by an unmoved mover—a divine force. This system emphasizes natural motion and purpose, with celestial bodies orbiting in harmony. Aristotle's model influenced medieval thought, portraying the universe as a composed, purposeful order with Earth at its center.
