Arid environments

Arid environments are regions characterized by extremely low rainfall, typically less than 250 millimeters (about 10 inches) annually. These areas often have high temperatures during the day and significant evaporation rates, which prevent moisture from accumulating. As a result, they tend to be dry, with sparse vegetation, limited water sources, and rugged or sandy landscapes. Examples include deserts like the Sahara and parts of the Middle East. Despite their harsh conditions, many specially adapted plants and animals thrive there, enduring the heat and scarce water resources.
