Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders
The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders was a historic infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1881 through the merging of two Scottish regiments. Known for their distinctive kilts and proud Highland traditions, they served in numerous conflicts, including the World Wars and other 20th-century engagements. The regiment was renowned for bravery, discipline, and strong community ties in the Highlands. In 2006, it was merged into the Royal Regiment of Scotland, ending its independent existence but preserving its heritage within the larger military structure.
