Argo Science Team
The Argo Science Team is a group of scientists and engineers who develop, maintain, and analyze the data from the Argo project—a global network of autonomous, floating instruments called Argo floats. These floats drift with ocean currents, periodically diving thousands of meters deep to collect data on temperature, salinity, and other properties as they ascend. The team uses this data to study ocean circulation, climate change, and marine environments, helping scientists better understand the role of the oceans in Earth's climate system. Their work supports environmental monitoring and informs policymaking related to climate resilience.
