Archaeological Air Survey
Archaeological air survey involves using aircraft or drones equipped with specialized sensors to image and map underground or surface archaeological features. This non-invasive technique detects patterns, structures, or artifacts that are hidden beneath the ground’s surface, often through methods like aerial photography, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), or infrared imaging. By capturing data from above, archaeologists can identify sites and features that might be difficult or intrusive to explore on foot, helping to preserve and understand cultural heritage more efficiently and accurately.
