ARATS

ARATS, or the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, is a non-governmental organization established by the Chinese government to facilitate communication and negotiation with Taiwan. Its main role is to handle practical issues such as trade, travel, and transportation between mainland China and Taiwan, helping maintain dialogue and cooperation despite political differences. ARATS operates as a bridge to promote交流and ensure smoother interactions, often acting as a counterpart to Taiwan's counterpart organization, SEF. It plays a key role in managing cross-strait affairs in a way that supports economic and social exchanges.
