Ara-C
Ara-C, or cytarabine, is a chemotherapy drug used to treat certain types of blood cancers like leukemia. It works by mimicking the building blocks of DNA, the molecule that carries genetic information. When cancer cells try to grow and divide, Ara-C gets incorporated into their DNA, disrupting the process and causing the cells to die. This makes it effective at reducing cancer cell numbers. Ara-C is typically given through injections or infusions in a clinical setting and is part of chemotherapy regimens aimed at controlling or eliminating cancer.
