Ar+ laser
An Ar+ laser is a type of laser that uses ionized argon gas (argon atoms with extra electrons) to produce a focused light beam. It works by energizing the argon atoms with an electrical current, causing them to emit photons—particles of light—when they return to a lower energy state. The laser emits a very precise, intense, and coherent blue-green light, commonly used in eye surgery, scientific research, and laser displays. The "Ar+" indicates that the argon atoms are positively charged ions, which are essential for generating the laser light efficiently.
