APTT Test

The Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) test measures how long it takes your blood to clot. It assesses the function of various clotting factors in your blood, helping to identify bleeding disorders or monitor blood-thinning medications. During the test, a small blood sample is taken, and a reagent is added to trigger clotting. The time it takes for a clot to form is measured in seconds. A longer or shorter time than normal can indicate issues with blood clotting, guiding diagnosis and treatment decisions.
