Appledore Railway Station

Appledore Railway Station was a small station in North Devon, England, serving the village of Appledore. Opened in 1864, it was part of the narrow gauge station network operated by the North Devon Railway. The station primarily facilitated local passenger travel and freight, particularly fishing and agricultural goods. It featured basic facilities and was connected to a ferry service across the estuary, enhancing transportation options. The station closed in 1917, due to World War I and declining usage, and was eventually dismantled, with little remaining today. It played a key role in regional connectivity during its operation.
