Appellate Body
The Appellate Body is a group within the World Trade Organization (WTO) responsible for reviewing trade disputes between member countries. When nations disagree over trade rules, they can bring their case to the WTO. If they’re not satisfied with the initial decision, they can appeal to the Appellate Body, which examines whether the original ruling followed WTO rules correctly. It functions similar to an appeals court in a legal system, ensuring that trade disputes are resolved fairly and consistently according to international trade agreements.
