Apothecary

An apothecary is a historical term for a healthcare professional who prepared and dispensed medicines and remedies, often combining scientific knowledge with herbal and natural ingredients. Similar to a modern pharmacist, an apothecary would diagnose minor ailments, offer treatments, and create custom medicinal concoctions. In the past, they also provided advice on health and wellness. While the role has largely evolved into pharmacy practice today, the term is sometimes used in a traditional or historical context to refer to those involved in the preparation and sale of medicines.
