Apollodorus of Carystus
Apollodorus of Carystus was an ancient Greek historian and mathematician from the 4th century BCE. He is known for writing the "Library"—a comprehensive summary of Greek mythology, history, and legendary stories, which has been a key resource for understanding Greek culture. His work aimed to compile and preserve the known traditions and narratives of Greece, making complex histories accessible. Though much of his writing has been lost or survives only in fragments, Apollodorus's contributions helped shape later classical scholarship and storytelling.
