Apley's Compression Test

Apley's Compression Test is a clinical method used to assess knee injuries, particularly to identify damage to the meniscus or cartilage. The patient lies face down, and the doctor bends the knee to 90 degrees. The doctor then applies downward pressure on the heel while rotating the lower leg. If this causes pain or clicking, it may indicate a meniscus tear. The test helps differentiate between ligament injuries and meniscal damage, assisting in diagnosing the source of knee pain.
