Apixaban

Apixaban is a medication that helps prevent blood clots by blocking a protein involved in the clotting process. It is often prescribed to reduce the risk of stroke in people with irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation), treat deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, and prevent these conditions from returning. By reducing clot formation, it lowers the chance of dangerous blockages in blood vessels. Apixaban is taken orally and offers an alternative to older blood thinners, often with fewer dietary restrictions and monitoring requirements. As with all medications, it should be used under medical supervision to balance benefits and potential bleeding risks.
