Aphid
An aphid is a small, soft-bodied insect that feeds on plant sap using specialized mouthparts called stylets. Often found on the undersides of leaves and stems, aphids can reproduce rapidly, creating large colonies that may damage plants by weakening them and spreading diseases. They come in various colors, including green, yellow, and black. While generally tiny—about 1 to 10 millimeters—they can be significant pests in agriculture and gardening. Natural predators like ladybugs and certain fungi can help control aphid populations, making them a key species in ecological balance.
