Aortography
Aortography is a medical imaging procedure that visualizes the aorta, the main artery carrying blood from the heart to the rest of the body. During the procedure, a thin tube called a catheter is inserted into a blood vessel, usually in the groin or arm, and guided to the aorta. A special dye (contrast agent) is then injected through the catheter, making the aorta visible on X-ray images. This allows doctors to detect abnormalities like aneurysms, blockages, or tears, aiding in diagnosis and planning treatment for vascular conditions.
