Aonach Tailteann
Aonach Tailteann was an ancient Irish sports festival held in honor of the goddess Tailtiu, celebrated with athletic competitions such as chariot racing, wrestling, and foot races. It took place at Tailtiu's burial site in County Donegal and served as a cultural and social gathering for tribal communities. The festival aimed to showcase local talent, promote unity, and honor Irish heritage. Although it dwindled over time and faded by the medieval period, Aonach Tailteann remains a symbol of Ireland’s rich sporting and cultural traditions.
