Antonov An-225
The Antonov An-225 Mriya was a large cargo airplane developed in the 1980s in the Soviet Union. Known for being the heaviest aircraft ever built, it could carry massive loads, including oversized cargo like satellites and industrial equipment. The An-225 featured six engines and a distinctive nose that could raise for easy loading. Initially designed to transport the Buran space shuttle, it became popular for various heavy-lift tasks worldwide. Tragically, it was destroyed in 2022 during the conflict in Ukraine, marking the end of a remarkable aircraft that symbolized engineering prowess and logistical capability.
