Antonio Neri

Antonio Neri (1576–1614) was an Italian priest and scientist known for his pioneering work in early glassmaking and alchemy. He authored "L'Arte Vetraria" (The Art of Glass), a comprehensive book published in 1612 that documented advanced techniques in glass production and chemistry. Neri’s work contributed to the understanding of materials and chemical processes, laying groundwork for future scientific developments. His approach combined practical craftsmanship with scientific inquiry, making significant strides in the study of glass, minerals, and chemical reactions during the late Renaissance period.
