
Antonio Jose de Sucre
Antonio José de Sucre was a prominent Venezuelan and Latin American leader during the early 19th century. He played a key role in military campaigns that led to the independence of several South American countries from Spanish rule. Sucre is best known for his leadership in the decisive Battle of Ayacucho in 1824, which effectively ended Spanish control in South America.
