Antonian Theology
Antonian Theology is a religious movement from 18th-century Central Africa founded by Annaeus Kongo and later led by Dona Beatriz. It blends Catholic beliefs with local African traditions, emphasizing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and promoting social equality. Central to its teachings is the idea that Jesus was African and that divine power can be accessed through faith and spiritual practices. Despite opposition from the Catholic Church, Antonian Theology gained followers and challenged existing religious and social structures, highlighting a unique African Christian expression rooted in cultural identity and spiritual empowerment.
