Antiziganism
Antiziganism is prejudice and discrimination directed against Roma people, often called Romani or Gypsies. It involves negative stereotypes, social exclusion, hostility, and unjust treatment based on their ethnicity. This form of bias has a long history, leading to marginalization, unequal access to education, employment, and social services, as well as hate crimes. Antiziganism perpetuates misunderstandings and fosters social division, contributing to the ongoing struggles faced by Roma communities worldwide. Addressing it requires awareness, education, and efforts to promote respect and equality for all ethnic groups.
