Antivenom Serum

Antivenom serum is a specialized medical treatment used to counteract the effects of venom from bites or stings of venomous animals such as snakes, spiders, or scorpions. It is created by extracting venom antibodies from animals, typically horses or sheep, that have been immunized with small amounts of venom. When administered to a bitten person, the serum’s antibodies neutralize the venom’s toxins, reducing tissue damage and life-threatening symptoms. Antivenom is most effective when given promptly after a bite, and its use is a critical tool in managing envenomation incidents.
