Antivenom manufacturing processes
Antivenom manufacturing involves collecting venom from a toxic animal, like a snake or spider, and injecting small, controlled amounts into a host animal such as a horse or sheep. Over time, the host produces antibodies—proteins that fight the venom. These antibodies are then collected from the animal’s blood, purified to remove other components, and processed into injectable antivenom. This antivenom can be administered to humans bitten by venomous creatures to neutralize the toxins and reduce harm. The process ensures the production of effective, safe antivenom for medical use.
