Antigonid Kingdom

The Antigonid Kingdom was a Hellenistic state that emerged after Alexander the Great's empire fragmented, centered mainly in Macedonia and Greece. It was ruled by the Antigonid dynasty, which sought to maintain control over Macedon and influence Greek city-states. The kingdom was characterized by a strong military presence, efforts to preserve Greek culture, and periodic conflicts with rival Hellenistic states and local Greek powers. It lasted from around 306 BCE until it was absorbed into the Roman Empire in the 2nd century BCE, playing a key role in the political landscape of the eastern Mediterranean during this period.
