Antiform

An antiform is a geological structure where layers of rock have been bent or folded into an arch-like shape that is open downward, resembling an upside-down bowl. Unlike a syncline, which dips inward, an antiform's layers arch upward. These folds form due to compressional forces within the Earth's crust, often associated with mountain-building processes. Antiforms can be made of various rock types and are important for understanding the Earth's geological history, including past tectonic activity and the movement of sedimentary layers over time.
