Antidote
An antidote is a substance that directly counteracts or neutralizes the harmful effects of a poison or toxin. It works by either binding to the toxin, preventing it from affecting the body, or by reversing its effects. Antidotes are specific to particular poisons; for example, the antidote for opioid overdose is naloxone. They are critical in medical emergencies, helping to reduce damage and save lives when someone has been poisoned. However, not all poisons have antidotes, and timely administration is essential for effectiveness.
