Anti-PR3 antibodies
Anti-PR3 antibodies are immune system proteins that mistakenly target and attack a protein called proteinase 3 (PR3), found in certain immune cells called neutrophils. Their presence is often associated with a condition called granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), a type of vasculitis involving inflammation of blood vessels. These antibodies can contribute to vessel damage and inflammation. Detecting Anti-PR3 antibodies helps doctors diagnose and monitor this autoimmune disorder, guiding appropriate treatment to reduce inflammation and prevent tissue damage.
