Anti-inflammatory Agents

Anti-inflammatory agents are medications that help reduce inflammation, which is the body's natural response to injury or infection, characterized by swelling, redness, pain, and warmth. These agents work by blocking the production of chemicals that cause inflammation, alleviating discomfort and preventing tissue damage. Common examples include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen and aspirin, and corticosteroids. They are widely used to treat conditions such as arthritis, muscle injuries, and autoimmune diseases. While effective, they should be used as directed because long-term use can have side effects.
